My topic is Endocrinology . Endocrinology is the study of hormones and endocrine glands and organs. Endocrinologist provides diagnoses and care for health issues rooted in the endocrine system. I want to know more about how sugar can deteriorate your body.

We need to study endocrinology because endocrinologist play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders like diabetes. Endocrinology is important because of the endocrine connection which is when the body produces glucose from the foods you eat. Glucose is important it is the primary source of energy for your brain and without getting energy to your brain your body wouldn't be able to run smoothly.

Science Experiment on How Much Sugar is in Pop
For my experiment I wanted to find out how much sugar was really in pop. Some people may say “Can’t you just read the can?”, well that doesn’t always give us a visual of how much sugar is in your drink.
I feel a lot of people don’t look at or care about how much sugar is in pop or let alone in any drink. Doing that can cause a lot of health problems like diabetes. Diabetes is a metabolic disorder in which one is very thirsty, produces excessive urine, and is unable to produce or use sufficient insulin. Diabetes is a very serious disorder and can even take a life if left untreated.
The first thing I did for my experiment was come up with a question. My question was if I boil pop, how much of that percentage will be sugar? In the scientific method you need to come up with a question because that is your reasoning for the experiment.
The next thing I did for my experiment was research and I found out why studying endocrinology is important. Well first endocrinology is the branch of physiology and medicine concerned with endocrine glands and hormones. Here is why we need to study endocrinology. Well endocrinologists play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders like diabetes. Endocrinology is important because of the endocrine connection which is when the body produces glucose from the foods you eat. Glucose is important, it is the primary source of energy for your brain and without getting energy to your brain your body wouldn't be able to run smoothly.
The third step in my experiment was to construct a hypothesis. A hypothesis is a theory that has not been proven. My hypothesis was that there would be at least one percent of sugar in a Dr. Pepper.
The last step I did was test with an experiment. For my experiment the first thing I did was weigh a Dr. Pepper in a cup which was 9.20 ounces. I then got a pot and boiled it on medium to high heat for about fifteen minutes or until it turns into a syrup. After waiting till that point i dumped it back into the same cup and weighed it agian. That weight was 3.31 ounces. I then subtracted 9.20 by 3.31 and got 5.89 ounces then divided that by 9.20 and got 0.640 and that is the percentage of sugar in a Dr. Pepper.
Some of the things that went wrong is I got a cup too small in the beginning. Then I couldn't figure out how to work the scale. My hypothesis was also wrong.
Things that went right was it actually turned into a syrup, I was able to do the calculations, and it has made me realize how much sugar is actually in a can of pop.
