SCIENCE CONCEPT
Chemical oceanographers and marine chemists study ocean water, and pollution. They study time, and how it would lead up to factories making more junk. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is nothing but trash. So much trash is in that island that it is actually a mountain. The island is 1.6 million miles. Meaning it is 3 times the size of France. 100 million animals die each year from pollution.

APPLICATION
Have you ever wondered why study pollution? Listen and I will tell you why we study pollution. It is bad for the animals. It kills them like every day. There is air, water, and soil pollution. 100 million animals die each year because

CAREER
A biological oceanographer’s career is how people study plants and animals in the marine environment. Biological oceanographers can start out making $29,000.00 a year. While they are monitoring the ocean environment they see how the pollution affects the animals that they are studying in that environment. Water pollution doesn’t affect just the ocean, but it also hurts us so we have to be careful. A few days ago a ten year old whale was found dead on the beach. It had over 225 pounds of trash in its body. Now that’s sad, and astonishingly correct. There is over 25.5 trillion pounds of trash. Meaning there is 656 times more trash as there are people on the earth.

SCIENTIST
Joseph A.Gardella Jr. spent a long time working in the pollution base. When I say long time I mean decades. He has devoted his life to protecting the animals from pollution. He was 86 years old when he died. He was born in the state of Michigian. He was born on June 8, 1929. His mother’s name was Lone, and his father’s name was Scalveo. He also served in the army.
