12 popsicle sticks - how many squares can you make?

CHALLENGE:   How tall of a tower can you make using the provided windbags and rubber bands?
Work as a group to build the largest tower.  Some worked as a group, some not so much.

​The final presentation project for year, was to create a presentation on a Math Career.   Requirements included:  minimum 10 slides long, a company that employs that career, and cost of living in the location of that company.

We have ditched the textbooks and are working on a few projects til the end of the year.  The 7th & 8th grade classes created a book "ABC's of Math" during Stanford Testing for their first project.   The 2nd project for the 7th & 8th graders was to Design a Farm.   

Students had to determine what crops or animals they wanted on their farm.   Then had to create an animal pen or crop field with a minimum diameter and minimum area for each. 

After testing, 4th hour has worked on creating an ABC book of math terms.   
They created a list and then drew pictures to go with the words.

​Mrs. Coberly, and Mrs. Flint.
