Geodes

​SCIENCE CONCEPT

My topic is geodes.  Geodes are hollow rocks that have minerals or gems inside them. 
They can take hundreds of years to form. They form from the mineral seeping into the hollowed-out rock, then it superheats to form the crystals.

APPLICATION

Geodes are an amazing phenomenon that I marvel at every day. They are proof of a living God. I think that we should study them to understand our creator better. We need to study geodes because they could teach us about the history of the geothermal events that have occurred.

A geologist studies geology.   To become a geologist you will need a four (4) year bachelor’s degree in environmental science or geology.   A geologist can make $69,185 a year in the state of Missouri.

​SCIENTIST

Marie Tharp was an American geologist and oceanographic cartographer. In the 1950s, she collaborated with geologist Bruce Heezen to produce the first scientific map of the Atlantic Ocean floor. Her cartography revealed a more detailed topography and multi-dimensional geographical landscape of the ocean bottom.
