Hyenas

Famous Scientist
Dr. Johnson-Ulrich is an American scientist that has a PhD in zoology and now works at the Hunter university in New York City, New York: and at the age of 37 (as of 2026) she had done a lot of research on quite a few animals like hyenas. The research she did about hyenas is how she studied the way they act, eat, and their environment.

Dr. Johnson-Ulrich uses urbanization to create an unnatural experiment to study how environmental change affects many different animals everyday. Honestly I think she is a really cool person/scientist with the way she knows a bunch about animals and the environment. I hope she can do more research not only on hyenas but with more animals like lions, tigers, and bears.
Career
My day begins with checking the health and behavior of the individuals in the clan, followed by preparing specialized carnivore diets (often meat-based with, occasionally, vegetables for fiber). Then, I would start to clean, remove waste, and replace bedding, and cleaning concrete areas is a daily task. Hyenas are messy and love to roll in or scent-mark with strong-smelling items, so enclosure maintenance is constant.

The median annual wage for zoologists and wildlife biologists was $72,860 in May 2024. Most zoologists and wildlife biologists work full-time. Zoologists and wildlife biologists work in a variety of settings, including offices and laboratories. Depending on their job, they also may spend time outdoors, gathering data and studying animals in their natural habitats.
Concept & Application
Some people think that hyenas are dogs but in reality they are closer to cats despite their dog-like appearance. Hyenas belong to the Felidae family and you may ask well what is a Felidae the short answer is it's a Feline but the long answer is the biology of the family of all feline species like Lions, Leopards, and the normal house cat.

The reason that Hyenas laugh is because it shows that they are frustrated or submissive and of course to talk to other Hyenas. Hyenas usually live in a group called a clan that consists of around 100 other Hyenas .

Hyenas Scientific name Hyaenidae and the name means “pig or sow” in Ancient Greek word.
Their diet is pretty interesting because they eat wildebeest, zebra, antelope, and warthogs, as well as smaller animals like birds, reptiles, and insects.
