Why we need to study the Milky Way Astronomy is the study of outer space and it has been around for over a thousand years. People that study astronomy are called Astronomers. One of the tools that they use for astronomy is called an astronomical clock. The astronomical clock not only displays time on earth but also shows where planets are. One of the most famous people who studied Astronomy was Edwin Hubble. Edwin Hubble was an American astronomer who studied the Milky Way.
Some of the reasons why we need to continue studying Astronomy are to learn about the stars, planets, and the galaxies they live in. Our galaxy is the Milky Way, which began around 13.6 billion years ago when clouds of dust and gas were mixed together pushing the gravity. Many of the elements on the periodic table are found in stars. As we study more about the stars we will learn more about the periodic table. We study planets because we want to learn and discover new things that planets can do. Learning about our home galaxy helps us understand how galaxies form and evolve. |
