Science Concept & Application
(missing)

Career
A career in the stem field of science is chemistry. Chemistry is a study of the properties and behavior of matter. It is a physical science within the natural sciences. That study the chemical elements that make up matter and compounds made. In simple terms It investigates the  composition of the substances and how materials behave.

What you do with a career in chemistry is prepare solutions compounds and reagents used in laboratory procedures. They analyze substances to determine their composition and concentration.

Scientist
A famous scientist that studies chemistry is Rosalind Franklin. She graduated from Newham college 1941. She earned her bachelor's degree.  She made the study of the structure of DNA possible. She is known for x-ray diffraction and dna.

She was a very hard worker. Did you know Rosalind Franklin had an asteroid named after her. Before she studied dna she studied holes in cole. She loved traveling and backpacking. She took photo 51. Eventually she got cancer and lived til the age of 37.

Essay
Do you ever wonder what you can make with just an old water bottle, baking soda     vinegar and a balloon? Well, I got the solution for you with this fun experiment for all ages

Hello my name is Baylee Hogan for my experiment i'm gonna be doing the baking soda and vinegar experiment and you may be thinking why do we do this experiment well this experiment demonstrates how the states of matter change when you mix something solid with something liquid  creates a gas the science behind this experiment is the  chemical reaction between baking soda and the vinegar the base is baking soda and the acid is vinegar when the two ingredients mix together the experiment gets its lift the gas produced from the two ingredients makes carbon dioxide also known as co2 the same gas created by the human lungs that is a bio product  of are repotory system. It goes up into the balloon and there you have a carbon dioxide balloon then after that all you have to do is tie it and you're done.

The materials you will be needing for this experiment is an empty 12-16 ounce soda bottle a balloon vinegar a small funnel baking soda a teaspoon and a small measuring cup

Now for the directions
Step 1: is to make sure you have adult supervision no  matter how small of an experiment its always important it's always important to have adult supervision
Step 2: clear off a clean clear space.
Step 3: is to get all of your ingredients together so you're prepared for the experiment.
Step 4: put the small funnel into the balloon
Step 5: pour in your baking soda
Step 6: pour your vinegar in to your bottle using a small measuring cup
Step 7: carefully put the balloon on the bottle without poring the baking soda in the bottle
Step 8:  make a hypothesis on what will happen
Step 9: write it down on a piece of paper
Step 10:   and watch the science happen

The reason we should do this experiment is so we can see how the states of matter change and it's just really interesting and entertaining to watch. It also Breaks up boredom. It's a fun and easy experiment to pass time by. It would especially be fun for snow days.

Here are some fun facts about baking soda and vinegar
1. they cancel each other out. Baking soda is a 8-9 ph on the pH scale that makes it an alkaline cleaner. Vinegar is a 2-3 on the ph scale so it's an acid so when you mix them makes a fun fizzy reaction 2. Vinegar helps you lose weight 3. Vinegar helps with digestion 4. vinegar regulates blood sugar 5. vinegar  lowers cholesterol 6. Vinegar improves skin health 7. vinegar relieves muscle pain  8. A lot of different colchers use vinegar like the chineses the Italians, French, Japanese and the Filipinos 9. Vinegar can kill mold 10. People use vinegar as a salad dressing. The different kinds of vinegar are white vinegar apple cider vinegar Balsamic vinegar  red wine vinegar rice vinegar and malt vinegar  and vinegar can be really good for cleaning cause its acidity makes it an eco friendly and effective cleaner. So vinegar is really effective now for our baking soda facts

  1. Baking soda is also called sodium bicarbonate
  2. Baking soda is used to bake a lot of things
  3. It can be used for whitening teeth
  4. It's not flammable
  5. It's good for your hair
  6. It reduces acidity in the stomach
  7. It's used in fire extinguishers ‘
  8. It relieves bug bites
  9. It  softens the skin
  10. It unclogs pores

And that's it for my facts i hope you enjoyed learning more about these amazing things and how science is beneficial in a lot of ways The reason i picked this experiment to do i cause i think it's really interesting how the different chemicals reacted and make a wonderful thing i hope you got the same thing from this experiment and you can always try it at home cause it's a very easy experiment so with that thats i present my experiment. =

In  conclusion, the experiment worked out great. The science behind it is when you mix something solid with something liquid  creates a gas the science behind this experiment is the  chemical reaction between baking soda and the vinegar the base is baking soda and the acid is vinegar when the two ingredients mix together the experiment gets its lift the gas produced from the two ingredients makes carbon dioxide also known as co2 the same gas created by the human lungs that is a bio product  of are repotory system. It goes up into the balloon and there you have a carbon dioxide balloon then after that all you have to do is tie it and you're done.
